John F. Gleason has been a Novato resident for the past 30 years. John apprenticed in his family’s construction and remodelling business as a teenager. He first worked in the plumbing business in San Francisco as an apprentice beginning in 1981. Prior to opening his own business in 1991, John worked for C.R. Frederick, Inc. doing underground piping in Novato, including the Highway 37 sewer reclamation project for the Novato Sanitary District. This environmentally progressive project turned waste water into gray water used for irrigation on the Stone Tree Golf Course. John received professional PHCC training and was mentored by Gene Burch and Michael Burkell.
John and his wife of 24 years, Lynn, have four daughters and two grandchildren. John is actively involved in community organizations and is dedicated to community service. He belongs to the Rip City Riders motorcycle group, which donates proceeds from its events to organizations such as Hospice of Marin and Juvenile Diabetes. John belongs to the Novato Druids, another organization raising funds for charitable causes.
Mary Baldwin, also a Novato resident for 30 years and friend of the Gleasons, has worked for John since 2009 as Office Manager. Mary handles the billing and payroll for John’s Plumbing and Sewer Service.
